A catalogue of the superlative collection of cabinet pictures and miniatures, beautiful Roman missals, most superbly illuminated, a few bronzes, carvings in ivory, specimens of stained glass from the earliest periods of the art, drawings, books of prints and port folios, a beautiful impression Macklin's Bible and a small library of books : the property of, and selected with equal taste and judgment by, the late John Edward Breen, Esq., deceased, of Swithin's Lane, Lombard Street : which will be peremptorily sold by auction, by Mess. Skinner, Dyke, & Co. on Tuesday the 28th of May, 1805, and four following days, at twelve o'clock, at the Great Room, No. 25, Conduit Street, Hanover Square, near Bond Street, by order of the executors and trustees : among the pictures are a cabinet jewel of a Virgin and Child by Raphael : a Head of the Virgin by Carlo Dolci, from Lord Godophin's collection : the Virgin Child, St John and Angel by L. D'Vinci ... the Adoration of the Magi by N. Poussin : a portrait by Denner ... : the Marriage of St. Catharine by Titian : the Birth of Adonis by Albano ... : cabinet landscape by Claude : a ditto by Wynants, and many others, in the most perfect preservation, by the following esteemed Masters : Correggio, P. Cortona, Solimena, Sal Rosa, Carracci, Guido, Rubens, Vandyck, Van Huysum, Phillippo Laura, Teniers, Claude, Paul Brill, Poelemburgh, Ostade, Wouvermans, Vanderwerff, T. Mieris, G. Douw, Pynaker, Breughel, &c. : in the collection of miniatures are the works of Petitot, Zinck, Cooper, Oliver, Hoskins, Hilliard, Holbein, Rosalba, &c.

A catalogue of that magnificent and truly valuable collection of pictures, the production of the great artists of the British School, known as the collection of the Shakspeare Gallery : formed under the spirited directions, and with the unbounded expence, by those distinguished promoters of the fine arts, the Messrs. Boydell's : these justly-admired pictures, in which the poetry of our Great Bard has furnished occasion for a proud display of national talent, comprises many of the happiest efforts of such deceased artists as the immortal Sir Joshua Reynolds, Wright of Derby, Hodges, Romney, Hamilton, Wheatley, Kirk, Ramberg, and others, the rarity as well as the excellence of whose works, must insure them a distinguished place in the collection of the connoisseur : among the spirited performances of living genius, are the King Lear, by Mr. West : and various by Barry, Northcote, Opie, Tesham, Fuseli, Hoppner, Smirke, Stothard, Peters, Rigaud, Westall, Boydell, A. Kauffman : and that admirable set of cabinet pictures by Mr. Smirke : basso relievos, by the Hon. Mrs. Damer : and the Grand Alto Relievo, the Apotheosis of Shakspeare, by the late Thomas Banks, Esq. R.A. : many of the above pictures are of the cabinet size, and the remainder will be found worthy objects for the late saloons of the nobility and Gentry, or the Halls of Incorporate Bodies, or for Exhibitions in distant parts of the kingdom : the whole will be sold by auction, by Mr. Christie, on the premises, on Friday, May 17, 1805, and two following days, (Sunday excepted), at twelve o'clock, by order of the proprietor, without reserve.
