- Photograph of Richard Shirley Smith in his studio surrounded by examples of his bookplates. Amicia de Moubray comments that Shirley Smith's bookplates have a 'delicate 18th -century Rococo quality, reminiscent of Rex Whistler…they often incorporate scrolls, volutes, coats of arms and delicately drawn vegetation. Primarily an artist known for murals, paintings and illustrations, Mr. Shirley Smith has been designing bookplates for more than 30 years.'
