- Scope and Content:
- The drawing depicts several hummingbirds of different types flying around a collection of flowers and grass, with a nest amid the leaves. The Latin name is given as Mellivora (possibly Florisuga mellivora). At bottom of page: an adapted quotation from Erasmus Darwin's "The Botanic Garden" beginning, "The humming-Bird in gay Brasilian bowers."
