- The drawing shows a mango tree, with several mangoes hanging from its branches. The Latin name is given as Mangifera-Indica (see Mangifera indica). Bottom of page: an adapted quotation from poet Edmund Waller's (1606-1687) "The Battle of the Summer's Islands," beginning, "On candied Plantains, and the juicy Pine, On choicest Mangoes, and sweet grapes, they dine."
