- Scope and Content:
- Series IV, Photographs, includes both print and digitized photographs. The sub-series, Digitized Photographs, contains digitized copies of 272 photographs from an album documenting Baskett's years at the Brick House in Virginia (1961-1963). There are individual images and digitizations of album pages. The album includes photographs of John Baskett and others involved in caring for and building Paul Mellon's art and rare book collections, such as Willis Van Devanter, Martha Tross and Basil Taylor; there are also numerous photographs of the landscape and homes in Upperville, Virginia. The sub-series in 'Photographs: reproductions included in 'Paul Mellon's Legacy: A Passion for British Art'' contains printed photo reproductions of earier images used to illustrate John Baskett's essay 'Paul Mellon: A Remembrance' in the 2007 catalogue, 'Paul Mellon's Legacy: A Passion for British Art.' These images show Andrew Mellon, Paul Mellon at various stages in his life, and pictures of John Baskett and Paul Mellon together.

- Photographs in sub-series 'Digitized album' have been kept in their original order. Photographs in sub-series 'Photographs: reproductions included in 'Paul Mellon's Legacy: A Passion for British Art' are arranged chronologically.
