Scope and Content:
Etched proof vignette after Turner [?] of river scene [Rhine?], including figures with various trading goods and barrels and a small boat pushing off the river bank. In the background, buildings stand upon a hill and in the foreground a number of women gather on the road. Underneath the etching, Ruskin has noted "When bitten, please clean off the Burr before sending me proof." Measures 7.6 x 11.3 cm.
