- "My Dear Redgrave, I was about to answer the enclosed (received at noon today) by sending poor T [Townsend] a donation in as friendly & considerate a way as possible, when it occurred to me that you knowing so much about him & having done so much for him would kindly tell me whether what I wish & am perfectly ready to do is the right thing to be done -- Whether money should be sent to him or his wife & &-- You will get this tomorrow morning and if you can send me a line in answer by tomorrow's post I shall be greatly obliged as I don't want to delay replying to him--poor man-- With kindest regards to you [...] J.C. Horsely"
