BAC: British Art Center copy 1 is the Abbey copy. Bound in publisher's original blue paper wrappers, with lithographed title label on front cover.
BAC: British Art Center copy 2 bound in contemporary blind-stamped green cloth. Includes two additional plates not in the Abbey copy: [1] Wild buffalo hunting, and [2] View near the Sak[illegible]. Abbey copy plate 29 (Portrait of native lady) not present in this copy.
Consists of 41 lithographs of varying size (mounted on 30 blank leaves) from the Behar Lithographic Press, established by Sir Charles D'Oyly in Patna, Bihar, India, in 1828. The lithographs include portraits, animals, landscapes, and village life.
