Autograph manuscript on children's toys, by Ailsa Wood. The work is undated, but the text mentions the introduction of Bakelite in 1939, and it seems likely that it was composed during the war years or shortly thereafter. Text is written in a neat hand, in pen and brown ink, with the careful integration of numerous illustrations throughout. The illustrations are in varying degrees of completion. Some are fully finished, in gouache, black chalk, and pen and ink. Others have only lightly been sketched in graphite, with written indications of the colors to be applied. - Subject Terms:
