- Notes:
- Manuscript album of watercolors and personal verses, sent as a Christmas card from "the Richmondite Carrs" in Yorkshire, to their sister and her husband, the Baron and Baroness. The verse begins: "Now here's to my dear Sister Dottie / Whom we never call Charlotte or Lottie / But she married a Baron so noble and big / Who honours the cloth of a clerical rig." The watercolors illustrate their days as children, a village ship of "Mr. & Mrs. Boswell, dealers in all kinds of coloured glass," country walks, family games and dolls, and finally their sister's wedding day when her brother had "vowed he would pay / On Dot's wedding day / Her height in a column of pence." The front cover depicts Father Christmas reading this volume, and there is also a fine decorative title page.
