The billhead is addressed at top, in typescript, to "J.J. Sinclair esq., Aros, Yercaud, Salem Dt." and dated "30th April, 1920."
J.J. Sinclair arrived in India 1877 and was a founding partner in the firm of Sinclair, Murray, & Co. See: The cyclopedia of India (1907-1909).

The billhead records the purchase of various biscuits, meat (sausage, bacon, roe), fruits, spices, and bath products, in three transactions, April 6-8, 1920. The total bill is £ 143/11/6. Payment is recorded by W. Molloy, on May 31, with a one Anna stamp of India Postage & Revenue.
