Produced after the claims of Frederick Cook and Robert E. Peary as to being the first to reach the North Pole.
BAC: British Art Center copy is accompanied by the original box.
Dexterity puzzle, made of metal. The object of the game is to maneuver a metal ball through a winding course, avoiding holes, to the area labeled 'N' -- the North Pole. The upper face of the circular metal board is indented and pierced, overprinted in color. The lower side contains a view of "The Pole" and the rules of the game. The labyrinth is illustrated with vignettes of explorers with sledges, dogs, a camp site, igloos, polar bears and a ship. The back of the game shows two explorers pulling sledges as they arrive at the pole. The box cover shows a family, seated at a table, playing the game. - Subject Terms:
