Notes:
The picture frame in the shape of an ordinary bicycle (penny-farthing), dating from the late 19th century. It comprises a zinc body and velvet wheels stamped with white spokes. It appears that the velvet of the wheels was originally deep purple, which has since faded to tan (the wheel rim still retains hues of purple). The handlebars can rotate into a fixed position over the larger wheel. The back is covered in black leather, with a folding wedge to support vertical standing of the frame.
The frame houses (in an oval-shaped window) a studio portrait of a young man with a mustache, in a large overcoat, his watch fob visible on its chain. The gelatin silver photograph may be contemporary with the frame.
