"... the copper-engravings are printed by the artist on paper hand-made by Papeteries de Rives for Edward James in 1935, the text is printed at Whittington in 12-point Caslon on Czech Losin hand-made, and the prelims. [leaves [1-2, 4-5]] and end matter [leaf [22] are printed on an early Fabriano Ingres [dark pink paper]"--Colophon.
Full-page frontispiece, printed in dark red, and 8 engravings (plate mark 11 x 5 cm. or smaller), each accompanied by a haiku on preceding leaf.
Issued in brick red Roma paper covers with open spine; printed paper label; sewn Oriental style with black ribbon.
