Bound in gilt-tooled black and green morocco, in an Art Deco style.

Manuscript on the history and make-up of bookbindings, laid out as a mock-up for publication, by an unidentified author. The volume is illustrated with approximately 55 original drawings, many with watercolor or wash, depicting bindings of all eras. Also present are 20 mounted photographs, reproducing various bindings. The frontispiece depicts an English binding for Thomas Wotton, the last illustration a binding by Paul Legraine.
