The back pastedown features an inscription in graphite that reads "M. Shepperson 1818." The front pastedown also features additional inscriptions in red crayon.
Subject matter includes rural scenery, landscapes, buildings, and portraits, all generally unidentified. The drawings are primarily in graphite. The volume also includes eight detailed watercolors and several unfinished sketches. There are a small number of textual annotations of varied content.
