The finished print was originally published in 1852. It was based on Turner's Rockets and blue lights (close at hand)--to warn steam-boats of shoal-water.

The YCBA copy may be unique. Consists of a series of progressive impressions showing the build-up of the chromolithograph in 27 stages. In each pair of plates is shown an impression of the single-color stone and the cumulative result (of the colors used so far), concluding with the finished print.
