Usually ascribed to John Mitford (R.N.) under whose name a work with the same title appeared in 1819, but according to the Grolier Club's Catalogue of books illustrated by Thomas Rowlandson, the second work is an imitation of the first. Both works are imitations of the military adventures of Johnny Newcome ... by an officer. London, 1815.
