Deep brown quarter morocco, and calico-texture brown cloth covers; gold pictorial stamping in gilt on front and back covers and spine, gold lettering on spine, top edge gilt, untrimmed. Half-title, color frontispiece, title-page, 7 plates of color halftone-photoengravings, 51 plates of halftone-photoengravings, 8 plates of photogravures, 2 plates of line-photoengravings, 5 line-photoengravings in text, 16 of the halftone-photoengraving plates are printed on both sides, 1 original pencil drawing mounted on a plate of greyish-brown heavy paper. Number 189 of 220 copies, signed by the author. Each of the 220 states: "with an original drawing by the Ferneleys inserted." Spine height: 11 1/2 inches.
BAC: British Art Center copy: Sporting 1670. Green cloth, faded spine; gold image on front cover, gold lettering on spine, top edge green. Color frontispiece, illustrations, color plates, plates. Signed by author on front end-paper. Spine height: 11 3/8 inches.
