To be completed in twelve parts. Price £4:10, complete. Dickinson & Son, 114, New Bond Street." Parts numbers 1-3 dated June-September 1843; remaining numbers have no date on cover title. Wrappers for numbers 1-8 with additional imprint: "Printed by Wm. Davy, Gilbert Street, Oxford Street."
"The various authorities whence these British costumes have been derived, will be found appended to each number [on the facing leaf]. They had been originally collected and drawn during a period of more than twenty years, without any--the slightest--view to publication ..."--Leaf 1.
