Semi-weekly publication which ran for a year in about 1840 and was devoted to the polite life of the English middle class. Written especially for the young woman.
Much of the original text attributed to the publisher, Orlando Hodgson.
Originally published in 26 four-page parts, numbered 1-26, printed on colored paper (except plates). All issued separately prior to this reissue with collective t.p.
Orlando Hodgson was located at 111, Fleet Street from 1836-1844. Cf. Brown. London publishers and printers.
