"These preliminary pages [i.e., Newton's essay] were printed at the shop of William Edwin Rudge, New York"; designed by Bruce Rogers.
To produce the leaves bound in copies of A Noble Fragment, Gabriel Wells broke the "Mannheim" copy of the Gutenberg Bible sold to him by Frank M. Sabin. The Mannheim copy was formerly owned by Carl Theodor von Pfalz-Sulzbach.
