The plates include 48 steel-engraved reproductions of British paintings and, at front, lithographed facsimile autographs of the subscribers, on 8 pages (4 leaves).
Each plate is captioned with the title of the work, a dedication by J. Hogarth to a member of the nobility, or to the owner of the original work, and decorated with the appropriate coat of arms. Each plate has a tissue overlay and is followed by a leaf of descriptive text in English and French.
