A collection rich in early printed books, French, Italian and Spanish works, rare voyages and travels, etc., but especially famous for fine bindings; left by William Beckford to his younger daughter, the Duchess of Hamilton, and removed after his death, 1844, to Hamilton Palace, but kept apart from the Hamilton collections.
First portion sold June 30-July 13, 1882; second portion, Dec. 11-23, 1882; third portion, July 2-14, 1883; fourth and concluding portion, Nov. 27-30, 1883.
