The creator of the present sampler may be the Charlotte Hitchins christened on May 2, 1796, at Frodsham, Cheshire; or the Charlotte Hitchins christened on Oct 12, 1800, at Saint Hilary, Cornwall. The latter may be more likely, given the presence of verse by Rev. Moore of Cornwall.
