Notes:
"Kafka's Doll is a collaborative bookwork by the artist Paul Coldwell and the poet Anthony Rudolf. The short story by Rudolf is based on a recorded event in Franz Kafka's life, in which Kafka takes on the persona of a child's missing doll and corresponds with the child through a series of letters. Coldwell's images, developed on the computer, reflect on the story by layering drawn and photographic elements. Simple objects, which reference children's dot-to-dot drawings, are brought together with maps of constellations, suggesting the layering of imagination onto reality."--Publisher's prospectus.
