John Ruskin's The Stones of Venice, published in 1851, was accompanied by Examples of the architecture of Venice, a folio-size publication, issued in 3 parts (with 12 parts originally planned). The 3 parts included 15 plates, with letterpress describing the plates. George Allen's "Library edition" of 1904 added a 16th plate.
