Inscription(s)/Marks/Lettering:
Inscribed in modern hand in graphite, verso: John Gendall/ View of Westminster Hall and Abbey, the Hall, the Tower of St. Margaret's, / and in the background to the left St. John's. The original drawing afterwards engraved in / aquatint by Daniell Havell and published 1st January 1819 by Ackermann/ John Gendall (1790-1863) was probably a native of Exeter. He painted/many views in Devonshire and exhibited at the RA from 1846-1863. He/ collaborated at the RA with Wesfall and Shepherd in drawings fro many colur plate/ books 1819-1828.
