BAC: British Art Center copy with presentation inscription: Townsend Esq. Herald's Court with Mr. Smith's compliments. Tipped in on page [1]: "Mr. Hawkins having been advised to print the pamphlet enclosed herewith, as a justification of his conduct towards Mr. Smith, thinks it necessary to send it round as a present to Mr. S.'s subscribers; and it is hoped that, as they must of course have seen Mr. S.'s advertisement, they will, in justice, take the trouble of reading Mr. H's Vindication also,if, from the want of a proper direction, any subscriber shall not have received his copy of this pamphlet, it will be delivered to him on sending to Mr. H.'s residence, no. 71, Titchfield Street, near Oxford Street; but he is desired to be particular in observing to send to no. 71, as there are other persons of the same name in the street."
